Wet Deck Upgrades

Many of the water cooling towers in the Pacific Northwest were built with wet decking material made with sheets of PVC. While this material tends to be durable, it may be reasonable to consider upgrading the design.

Today's preferred wet decking material is made in a "honey-comb" design. The panels are each easily interchangeable and allow even distribution of water and air. This aids in the evaporation process, increasing efficiency.

One of the other design improvements in an upgrade is to elevate the wet deck medium above the water capture area in the pan. This allows improved water flow and can reduce maintenance.

These new wet decking design features can actually mean a 10 to 15% improvement in your cooling tower's efficiency, and that is directly related to your cost savings. Cost and energy savings of 10 to 15% are significant.

Our Engineering Report can explore the the cost / benefit ratio for your cooling tower, and present you with the information you need for a "Pay-Back Analysis".

Replacing the existing wet decking is an arduous process that requires a great deal of disassembly.

The replacement units come in panels that are easy to work with. If they ever become damaged or need to be replaced, that can be done on a "per unit" basis. This can reduce your maintenance cost in the future.
